1.Background
National development and eradication of extreme poverty is unthinkable without need based research. Universities are expected to generate high quality research outputs in different disciplines to support policy formulation and national development.
A phase II PHP, MySQL and Symfony training is being conducted in Jimma University for participants from Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, Zambian and Zimbabwe, where the phase I Symfony training has successfully been conduced in Gent University, Belgium.
Mr. Mohammed Ahmed a senior staff of Jimma University passed away at 59 years after sudden illness. He has been treated in Jimma University Specialized Hospital and in Addis Ababa for a few days.
Jimma University eLearning program was officially launched, on March 4, 2010. The launch ceremony was held at the senate hall where invited guests from and the respective stake holders from respective schools attended the ceremony.
